English as a second language.

English as a second language with Company Languages.
Our business English as a second language courses, combined
with communication skills for management, are of two types:
programmes at our English
as a second language school in the UK.
These offer intensive, individual English as a second language
training for executives who prefer to study English
as a second language in England. This one-to-one training
can be residential or on a homestay basis (family accommodation).
These management English
as a second language courses include one-on-one coaching
in communication skills such as negotiation, presentations,
international meetings, influencing skills and assertiveness.
These skills are combined with cross-cultural awareness to
ensure a cultural style appropriate to the target country
in question.
2 In-company group seminars in English
as a second language and communication skills.
These seminars are for teams or departments within a company,
and are held in-house on the client's
premises. These collective courses are led by a trainer
from Company Languages
and contain the same mix of business English as a second language
and communication skills training as the individual courses
During the seminar, you will not only improve your general
English in terms of grammar and vocabulary but will also be
able to prepare and practise, with your trainers, the situations
which are most important to you in your own work, for example
negotiations, meetings, telephone calls or presentations.
The trainers will simulate these situations with you in detail
to give you the language support and cultural awareness which
will help you manage them successfully and maximise your personal
confidence and credibility in them. Video recording is used
to give you feedback on the impression
which you create in certain situations in English.
Arrival is usually through London
Stansted Airport (the nearest to Colchester), or another airport,
or London's Waterloo Station with Eurostar. There you can
be collected by private taxi and taken to your host family
in time for dinner. The host families are carefully selected
and generally from a business or professional background:
they are friendly and welcoming, their homes are very comfortable,
and they enjoy discussing a range of subjects with their visitors,
whom they treat as family guests. There is nothing for you
to pay directly to the driver or family, as these charges
are shown on the final invoice sent to your company.
